I love anatomy class!  It’s so fun and interesting to learn about my body and the cells and pathways that make it function.  Sometimes my teachers will throw in a comment like, “is it magic? No… it’s Science” but I’m always thinking, and writing, it actually is a little bit of magic too 😉  I wish in these classes that the professors would meet me deeper… when they do, even for brief moments, it’s so fun!…..

 

… in Anatomy 3 yesterday, we just moved on to the blood, my professor was talking about lymphatic cells que ~ “the t-cells then go to the Thymus to undergo ‘basic training’… the body exposes these immature cells to a normal body cell and then IT DECIDES if it’s a threat or not… well, not decides, but reacts….”

 

..oh, I sat up straight, squirmed in my chair, a huge smile creeped to my face, and tickles ran through every part of my body.  Yes, cells deciding! haha yesssssss professor, don’t take it back!!! what if that word that seemed to fall out of your mouth WAS the most accurate word you could have used in that particular sentence.. THE CELL DECIDES…. what is so taboo in that? What is so far-fetched in that? What feels incorrect about that?

 

It was so interesting that ‘decide’ was the word that naturally came out of his mouth but then in an instant of though he tried to change it around.  Had me realize, just let the words flow out of your mouth and the most accurate ones will come, perhaps they may seem odd or strange, but they are the best ones, direct from source 😉  A cell deciding…. no need to try to cover up that simple fact, that each cell in our body is its own entity, so much smarter than we give them credit for… together forming us this magical, intelligent, otherworldly, almost unfathomable, electrochemical being, who also can decide ha.  And just we are more conscious of this physical reality than our cells are, isn’t it also easy to expand that to something larger than us that is aware of a reality that is different from ours??? hmmmmmm……
