A friend recently sent me this fortune cookie image in honor of Valentine’s Day… so I asked him how he would finished the sentence, he did (love is not for the weak of heart, which I agree, at first heart-break and at first sight, love seems to shatter one’s heart… breaking open the small limiting shell that encompasses a much larger love). Then I thought about how I would answer it and immediately a million analogies and sentence and words came to mind, and just kept coming to mind.. very much like how the sun loves the earth, warmth, indifference almost, nurturing, life-giving….

How to describe it? Beyond words, that’s what love is when I go to speak about it. How can one even start to put in to words a love that has created this entire physical Universe and the sun, and the stars, and the moon, and this beautiful planet that is hovering around that one beautiful star in the middle of the milky way galaxy in the middle of… space… and here we are, on this one planet, with trees and form and the ocean, and in this human body and driving in cars, and flowers and Vernon *my cat, how can on start to even describe a love like that, a love that allows people to, it’s not even people, it’s itself in the form of human being to be so free, and explore this dimension of itself SO much that it will allow the darkness, and allow shattering, and allow war, and allow devastation such that it becomes aware of itself at a new level, truer level, deeper level.
Then after a few hours of more musing like this I circled ’round to… Love just IS. The statement is c o m p l e t e. Love Is.
Like the Sun just IS.
Or Earth just IS.
Or our beautiful fleshy, boney, human body just IS.
Or life just IS.
Love Is.
