As I was driving to work today, the same route I’ve taken for the past two years, to the same place I’ve gone every Monday through Friday for the past six years, same car I’ve had for the past eight years, same body I’ve had for the past 28 years… 😉 You get the picture right? Same, Same, Same… life can start to look the same… life can start to feel the same… mundane.
So there I am, taking my usual left turn on to Garnet to get to the first major intersection of my drive, the one that is usually the longest wait at a light- I start to yawn, the first of many morning mundane yawns… but wait! What’s that? A bird? A plane? No, it’s a young girl holding her mom’s hand skipping down the sidewalk! She is so alive! Happy! Joyful! Excited! Skipping!
Ohhhhhhh, that is how life can be if I choose it to be that way? childlike. simple. free. alive. unrestricted.
And from that point forward, I wondered, what can I create today? How can I greet this day, rather than allow the day to unfold in it’s mundaneness. How can I be surprised? How can I surprise others? How can I skip forward in life excited for school/work? How can I be free in this divinely beautiful, co-creative, reflective, malleable universe? mmmmmmhmmmm 😉
Thank you for the reminder precious happy child – keep skippin’ 🙂
